Make-It Springfield—and the artists and makers we represent—has recently received recognition from the Springfield City Council for its community service efforts. City Council President, Jesse Lederman, delivered the citation which reads, “On the occasion of the Grand Opening of your new location, acknowledging especially the contributions of artists and makers to the culture, economy, and fabric of the City of Springfield.”
Make-It Springfield Operations & Program Coordinator, Sheldon Smith, and RAD Springfield Coordinator, Rob Thomas, were on hand to accept the certificate.
RAD Springfield accepts and refurbishes bike donations to give back to the community to help refugees and others in need of transportation. They also fix and re-sell bikes for the general public.
In November last year, we also received recognition from the State when Representative Carlos González presented Make-It with a certificate at our pre-opening celebration.
We are thankful for the community of creative people that supports our organization and provides us with a purpose and a mission to serve the Springfield community. Congratulations to all of us!
