RAD SPRINGFIELD
RAD Springfield brings bike repair education and open tool access to Springfield’s downtown, community members and neighborhoods. Open every Monday, 2-6 pm, and Saturday, 10 am – 2 pm, at Make-It Springfield, RAD invites volunteer technicians, from teens to adults, to help with bike repair, and the public can stop in to purchase, drop off for repair or donate bikes.
TEEN PROGRAMS
We are particularly interested in developing and sharing opportunities for teens of all ages, and welcoming teens during our open hours to work on their creative projects. Our specific programs have included Creative Teens Matter, Dress Code: A Teen Fashion Club for teens who are passionate about fashion design, and Emerging Young Creatives for high school age women+ who want to craft their creative dreams into reality. SOCIAL CIRCLE FOR CREATIVE MEN 55+
If you are looking for a lively group to share your creative work with, learn from others, or for belonging and friendship, join our Social Circle for Creative Men, ages 55+. The group meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday mornings each month at 11:00 a.m. for coffee and comradery. Newcomers are welcome! Participants are musicians, photographers, writers, entrepreneurs, knitters, designers and more. All skill levels welcome, from hobbyists to professionals. RESIDENT FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
Our Resident Fellowship program gives adventurous creators and makers the chance to build their creative practice. Over a 10-month period, and with an added stipend of $3,000, Fellows develop their creative vision with unlimited access to our equipment and space in downtown Springfield. READ MORE
MAKERS’ FAIR
Our fall Maker’s Market is a celebration of creativity and an opportunity for makers to participate in a public sale of their creative work and products by applying for a vendor table that is free of charge. MAKE-IT NEIGHBORHOODS
It is very important to us that our work brings joy to individuals and also our community. Through Make-It Neighborhoods, we are committed to promoting joy and inspiration through creativity. Performers and artists of all kinds may contact us to learn how to get involved.
INTERNSHIP TRAINING
Several times a year, we actively seek people who want an internship experience working in a creative community, who desire to make a difference and who seek knowledge and personal growth through working on a variety of projects, and learning about social change, socio-economic diversity and racial diversity. Make-It is a place where individuals and organizations come together for skill-sharing, networking and building audiences. We seek instructors to teach specific skills, we support small business owners who want to share their creative knowledge, and we offer space for creatives to present their work to the public.
