We’ve got a fearless little non-profit organization called Make-It Springfield, and it’s a home and makers’ space for those who want to live a creative life.

We are obsessed with creativity and in love with western Massachusetts, and especially the city of Springfield which is clearly a place filled with vital resilient people. Creatives are popping up all over downtown Springfield. You know it’s someplace you want to be because you can feel the playfulness that comes with diversity. The practices of creative people are delightful and Make-It is into supporting all the ways creatives push the boundaries of artistic expression in a positive way. We are invested in that harmonious feeling that appears in a space where everyone is welcome. Artisans, tinkerers, writers, designers, musicians, photographers, whatever you do – whatever you want to organize, and always, innovative works of art are appreciated by our staff.

And now, we are diving into our big renovation and expansive new space just one block away from our current store front home. It will be ready this fall for a special celebration. Watch for our announcements and invitations and the ways we want to share our inspiration with you, and know that here in downtown Springfield, every single one of us is flipping the script of the pandemic to offer a downtown we believe in, where creativity is slowly taking center stage, even if you have to start with very little. Everyone, absolutely everyone has a need for expression.
