A course that will take their craft to the next level!

If you know a talented young artist between the ages of 13-18 seeking a course to take their craft to the next level, Make-It Springfield’s esteemed Creative Teens Matter Course is designed for teens with a true passion for creativity and a commitment to growth.

This course offers two tracks of study. 

**Fashion Track:** Led by a fashion industry professional, this track offers a rigorous exploration of fashion design principles, creativity and technique.

**Interdisciplinary Arts Track:** Guided by experienced mentors, this track focuses on interdisciplinary exploration and artistic expression in a diverse array of artistic mediums such as poetry, fiber arts, theater, painting, pottery, music development, jewelry making, printmaking, sewing, fashion design, drawing, etc.

Acceptance through Nomination

Participants in our course are handpicked through nominations by adults in their lives. Upon completion, they will receive a prestigious award and certification from Make-It Springfield, recognizing their dedication, talent, and artistic development which can be used to submit with college applications or interests in special programs.

Course Schedule

June: M/W, 3:00-5:30 p.m.
July and August: M/T/W, 11:00 a.m. – 2 p.m. 
September: Trips with Make-It Springfield to Providence and New York Fashion Week

Participants will be supported to: 

• Engage in intensive workshops and classes led by industry experts.
• Network and build community with like-minded peers and establish valuable connections within the artistic community.
• Receive personalized mentorship and guidance to cultivate their unique artistic voice.
• Build their confidence as an artist and individual,
• Build a body of work and/or portfolio over the course of the course. 
• Tap into their dreams
• Strengthen both their imagination and their technical skills
• Create community and friendship within the group
