Creative Teens Matter, Teen Spotlight Series

We would love to share some of the work of Sorliany Hernández which she completed in our Creative Teens Matter Course summer of 2024.

I got to interview Sorliany about her process:

Jamila: What was your inspiration for this piece? 

Sorliany: This is new to me since I’m not much of a big painter. So I focused on an anime I like. First I sketched it on my iPad and then did the bigger painting

Jamila: What were some challenges that came up in your process? 

Sorliany: Having to repaint some parts. If I don’t have the color, I leave it as it is. At first I didn’t have white so I used a light pink.

Jamila: Who supports you in your creativity? 

Sorliany: Jai! (a Creative Teens instructor)
