Thank you for thinking of Make-It Springfield as a partner for your needs and interests!
We invite individuals, nonprofits, businesses and community groups to partner with us to lead Workshops, build Programs, and request Space Rentals. To begin, please review the information below, then complete our Request Form, which includes areas to describe your proposal and to ask questions. There is no guarantee of availability but we are interested in hearing your ideas and will do our best to accommodate as many requests as possible. WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
If your Workshop Proposal is accepted, we will ask you to come in for an instructor orientation and to schedule your Workshop at a time that is most convenient for our calendar. Instructor orientation includes the following:
- signing an Instructor Agreement,
- an overview of expectations regarding event promotion and registration,
- and completing a W9 if applicable.
- Instructors will soon be asked to also complete a CORI check. Our CORI policy is in process.
PROGRAM COLLABORATION IDEA
Make-It Springfield is open to collaborating with other organizations and businesses to build special programs that serve specific groups of people or the public in general. This process may involve building on ideas together, securing outside funding, outlining program implementation and/or discussing budgets and timelines.
SPACE RENTAL REQUEST
We welcome community members, organizations and businesses to inquire about renting our space for events, meetings or creative activities.
- We are one large creative space with artwork on the walls and equipment and materials visible to visitors. We do not have separate, private rooms to rent.
- Our space is handicap accessible; street parking is 50 cents / hour until 6pm on weekdays, and free on weekends; city parking garages are close by.
- We have tables and chairs, a projector, and extension cords.
- Capacity depends on the event set up and activities planned.
- We do not currently have a kitchen, refrigerator or water fountain.
- There are two handicap accessible bathrooms.
RENTAL RATES. These are base hourly rates. There may be additional fees for staffing, set up or arts activities that we facilitate. Please see “Important Information” below.
- $125 / hour –> Business / Large Nonprofit (over $250K budget)
- $100 / hour –> Arts Organization / Small Nonprofit (under $250K budget)
- $75 / hour –> Individual Artist or Maker (not affiliated with an organization)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- If you are applying for a grant for your event, program or workshop, please contact us for a quote so that you can include rental fee in your grant application budget.
- If you already have a grant, please let us know when submitting your request.
- You can find grant opportunities with your Local Cultural Council or the Mass Cultural Council Creative Experiences Grant.
- Rental rates include basic set up (tables and chairs), cleaning and utilities fees, and onsite staff for opening and closing only.
- Rental quotes will include a minimum of 1 hour for your set up and clean up time in addition to event time.
- There is a charge of $30/hour per additional operations staff person needed during the event. Make-It Springfield will determine if your event requires additional staff persons.
- There are additional charges for facilitated arts activities. This fee depends on the specific activity, group size and instructor.
- We require a non-refundable deposit to reserve your event date. Balance should be paid the morning of the event. The deposit will be determined based on the event request.
